Louie really did not have much other than to call the Seaboy which i already have contacted. Many of his children were before documents or in hiding from the government just trying to find information

Evening,
Great tree.
The death date for Inkpaduta is given as 1879. Is this from oral family story, or?
If he died in 1879. Then the woman that the Seaboys claim as a daughter of Inkpadutas, just couldn't be. She was born in 1880.
I was looking for some descendants of Black Eagles.
I located his pipe. He had given it to officials at St Peters Agency/Ft Snelling area in about 1832.
They have it listed in the museum as Wambdi Sapa 2nd Chief of thhe Wahpekute.
I documented one of Black Eagles daughters to a grand daughter today. Turned out she was a good friend of mine. I gave her all the documentation she needed to show her as a direct grand daughter. She was pretty blown away. The Museum and I will be coming out with an article hopefully this year.
A tragic history this family had.
Humbled to know some of their descendants

Ck the months of his death and her birth. It depends when he died and when she was born. If he died in December and she was born in January or anytime within the first six months or so, she could be his daughter. Sunshine

Ayyy, Wambdi Sapa did not kill his relative. A Wahpekute named Broken Wood killed the Chief and his second chief as told in Military letters in 1849 from Sibley to Indian subagent at St. Peters.
So, If Sibley knew this why would the Military perpetuate the story or the idea that Wambdi Sapa or Inkpaduta were cold blooded killers. In my research I found all who traded and delt with Wambdi Sapa knew him as friendly and fair this was early immigrants around northern Iowa and northwest Iowa. They say he was fed up with all the alcohol coming up the Mississippi and elsewhere. That was one of the reasons he split away from those along upper cannon river. Then his family was killed by Sak & Fox. A very misrepresented sad legacy Wambdi Sapa and Inkpaduta had.
Sigh

I'm a direct descendent of great grandpa little ghost, so that'd make it... Black eagle as great great great grandpa.
Also, Melinda* 'Mary' Littleghost Herald Thompson. I wasn't raised with that side of family so i can't remember all of them, but there's Vincent (my dad), Virgil, Roxanne, Jeanette, and Theresa i remember for sure. Janel Herald is daughter of Jeanette. Gramma mary also had a neice, Mary Blackbull, who is still alive also. Gramma died in 2015, i think.

Peter Lorenz Neufeld. local Manitoba historian. sure did his research but a very good article. I did my research and i found the first group names mentioned by the pioneer were the ones leaving every summer after 1862 to attack any sort of wasicu to try push them back.
